UNHOLY GIFT (OC STORY)

This is gonna be me just kinda summarizing the changes made from my old tmc au to make it into an oc story.

Thea and Nathan are siblings (Nathan is older by a couple of years), and Thomas is their uncle on their mom's side. Eva and Mateo are cousins (Mateo is also older by a couple years), Stella and Maria are sisters (both are Eva's and Mateo's mothers respectively and Maria is younger), and Seth is Stella's boyfriend. Lilith and Adam are twins, Adam being a few minutes older. Lily is Lilith's daughter.

Overall plot: Thea Rogers aspired to make her own music group and make it big like her older brother Nathan did in the city of Otoville, New York. Unfortunately, he was found one day in his apartment dead, the most suspected cause being suicide. Thea denies this possibility because of a journal Nathan had been keeping that was passed down to her after his death, giving subtle hints that the company that licensed his music, Divine Records, was behind it.

Thea recruits her friends Eva Cruz, Peter Aquino, and Carter Jackson to help build their own music group, beatCRASHERS, as well as do some snooping to investigate the truth about Nathan's death. However, the bigger they got as a group, the stranger their reality became...

Brief character info: Thea: Leader of the group beatCRASHERS, a group that performs street music, also investigating the death of her brother. Eva: Member of beatCRASHERS and daughter of one of the managers of Divine Records, strives to overcome her intense stage fright and general shyness. Peter: Member of beatCRASHERS, joined the group to get away from the stress of having divorced parents who hate each other but have to split custody. Carter: Originally going into classical music, he joined beatCRASHERS to experience the weird sensation in his chest whenever he hears street music. Nathan: Leader and vocalist of a rock band, Sub-ZERO, who's death was allegedly planned by Divine Records for an unknown reason. Mateo: Solo artist in reggaeton music and son of one of the managers of Divine Records. Tommy: Owner of a music shop in Otoville called Otobeats, passed down from his father a few years before he retired. Lilith: Co-owner of Divine Records with her brother, Adam, and owns a snake named Malus. The more composed of the twins. Adam: Co-owner of Divine Records with his sister, Lilith, and is a solo artist in street music under the pseudonym, PUPPET333R (Puppeteer). The more charismatic of the twins. Estrella: Manager of Divine Records who managed Nathan's band. Also part of a pop music duo, Star CrXssed, with her boyfriend Seth under the stage name "Stella". Seth: Boyfriend of Estrella and manager of Divine Records. Part of Star CrXssed with Estrella under the stage name "Sirius". Maria: PR Manager for Divine Records Lily: Rising solo artist in street music, in direct competition with beatCRASHERS. Eden: Someone Thea found in an alley and took home, surprisingly aware of Thea's situation and is willing to help out in any way he can.

To Strike A Chord Author: Hino Rating: Teen Archive Warnings: None Completion Status: Complete Tags: platonic ritshou, mutual trauma, post world domination arc Summary: Ritsu visits Shou, feeling uneasy about his past. But he's not the only one. My Notes: Short and sweet, it touches on Shou and Ritsu’s mutual trauma from the World Domination arc and gives insight in the Suzuki family relationship before Touichirou decided to take over the world. Also Shou plays the guitar.

Of Cold Hands Reaching Author: UncannyCookie Rating: G Archive Warnings: None Completion Status: Complete Tags: terumob (can be read as platonic), angst, ptsd, trauma recovery, hurt/comfort, dissociation, miscommunication, post-mogami arc, slow burn Summary: After six months in Mogami's mind world that weren't even real anyway, Mob returns to his old life. Everything is fine. My Notes: A really interesting take on what Mob’s mind looks like after spending six months in Mogami’s fake world. It gets pretty real when discussing Mob’s dissociation and apathy about the whole thing but gets sweet at the end and has a happy ending. It’s introspective, which I really like, but has enough lighter moments in between that it doesn���t feel heavy constantly.

Delirium Author: Janekfan Rating: G Archive Warnings: None Completion Status: Complete Tags: serirei, pneumonia, hospitalization, guilt, smoking, depression, sel-harm, panic attacks, fever, sickfic, love, kissing, caretaking, misunderstandings, mental instability, flashbacks, unconsciousness Summary: Reigen questions himself. My Notes: Reigen decides to pick up smoking again as a coping mechanism and hides it from Serizawa. It goes into Reigen’s feelings of self-loathing and depressive tendencies that the manga only really touches on. It’s dreary pretty much throughout but does have a happy ending to end on a high note!

April Fools Author: SparkyFrootloops Rating: G Archive Warnings: None Completion Status: Complete Tags: dad reigen, good parent reigen, teru is reigen’s son, hijinks & shenanigans, pranks Summary:  Teruki gets to celebrate April Fools Day at his new home with Reigen. My Notes: This fic is short but so so funny and full of heart. Teru trying to prank Reigen, who he lives with in the context of the story, is hilarious and all the dialogue is just gold. I also really love Mob’s cameo in the second half. Just a solid found family comedy one-shot to lighten your mood and make you smile.

Broken, Repaired, New Author: GalacticConfectionist Rating: T Archive Warnings: None Completion Status: In Progress Tags: serirei, abuse, child abuse, domestic violence (all abuse is only implied/referenced, never shown), light angst, hurt/comfort, pining, good parent reigen, good brother reigen, original character but she’s really good Summary: “You’re a good kid” He said, ruffling his student’s hair. There’s a moment of quiet and Reigen sighs, “Mob, remember this. Guys who hit women are the biggest losers in the world.” Reigen’s sister comes to visit, shenanigans ensue. My Notes: I don’t usually go for fics with ocs in them since I don’t typically end up connecting with them but this is one of the rare exceptions! Reigen’s sister escapes her abusive husband with her daughter and goes to Reigen for help. She ends up staying with Serizawa and trying to set him up with her brother. Despite the references to abuse it’s actually a very lighthearted fic about wanting to make your friends happy and taking care of those you consider to be family. Misaki and Reigen’s sibling relationship is well-written and she has enough personality and motivation to make me invested in her situation. Just an all-around good read if you want to smile and feel happy.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! lol Author: marnies Rating: Not Rated Archive Warnings: None Completion Status: In Progress Tags: serirei, good parent reigen, good parent serizawa, sickfic, fluff, epic family moments Summary:  reigen and serizawa adopt teru and shou and move in together asmr My Notes: This fic is just a good time. It’s not too far in but still has enough content to be worth a read. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, but that’s the charm of it, and it comes across as humorous and lighthearted with its found family dynamics. Reigen and Serizawa are both clueless parents of their adopted sick kids and are just trying to help each other out.

The Space Between Author: sofia-estrella Rating: M (nsfw content in later chapters) Archive Warnings: None Completion Status: In Progress Tags: serirei, reigen pov, slow burn, coworkers to friends to lovers Summary: Reigen never expected Serizawa to stay. My Notes: A really nice fic about how Reigen and Serizawa’s relationship grows and evolves slowly as they spend more than a year together over the course of the narrative. Both Reigen and Serizawa are very in character and their relationship is approached with care and concern from both sides, which I think is very fitting for them! It does a good job of balancing soft character interaction with personal squabbles and drama, which makes for an interesting and entertaining read.

The Joy of Cooking (for a Family You Didn’t Know You Had) Author: pepperfield Rating: G Archive Warnings: None Completion Status: In Progress Tags: good parent reigen, background serirei, found family, unintentional parenthood, cooking, meddling kids, family fluff, food as a metaphor for love, getting together, light pining, 5+1 Summary: At first, it's easy. Mob likes takoyaki. This, Reigen can remember. When Teru moves in, things get a little more complex, but it's fine. He only has to feed one kid on a regular basis; he can handle this. But before he knows it, he's memorized all of Tome's favorite restaurants and he's keeping a stash of snacks in the office just in case Shou visits. This whole "family" business has gotten out of hand. My Notes: Good old dad Reigen taking care of his five unruly children. In this fic Teru lives with Reigen and everyone else is just along for the collective ride. It’s a 5+1 fic about Reigen cooking/buying food for the kids as a way to show he cares about them. It’s really cute and shows how much Reigen cares about the esper boys and Tome after all is said and done in the manga.

On Revelations and Renovations Author: mustdang100 Rating: G Archive Warnings: None Completion Status: In Progress Tags: good parent reigen, reigen adopts teru, background serirei, hurt/comfort, adoption, fluff and humor, 5+1 Summary: “I’m really sorry to bother you, but, ah, I don’t suppose that offer to stay at your place for the night was still an option?” Five times Reigen got called a 'dad,' and one time he called himself one - a vignette-style fic on how Teruki grows up and Reigen acquires a family in the days, months, and years following the World Domination arc. My Notes: Teru decides to stay with Reigen after all following the world domination arc, and then never leaves. It’s a super cute and fun fic about found family dynamics between all the main cast, but specifically Reigen and Teru. Teru and Reigen’s banter is well-written and funny, and the whole concept and execution is really charming and fun to ready.

A Real (Psychic) Conman Author: Trinz Rating: T Archive Warnings: None Completion Status: In Progress Tags: esper!reigen, empath!reigen, swearing, reigen centric Summary:  An AU where Reigen actually is the 21st century's greatest psychic- or at least the second, or third, or maybe fourth- the point is that he’s an esper and his "I'm so powerful I can hide my aura" thing is... actually true. My Notes: This is one of my current favorite fics. I read it all over the course of like two days up to its current chapter and I’m in love with the author’s psychic Reigen concept. It follows the canon storyline with some divergence to account for Reigen actually having powers, and really paints him in a different light. It also has an air of mystery with its over-arching plot that, seventeen chapters in, still has only been hinted at, but the real star of the fic is the way a psychically powered Reigen interacts with Mob, Ritsu, and Dimple and the creative ways the author incorporates his powers of telepathy and empathy. Really creative and a super fun long read if you want a longer story!

Unless Things Change

Recently reread the Magic Book of Spells the other day and thought up an interesting idea that the show seems to be hinting at: that unless things change, everything will continually repeat over and over again.

There is a pattern of hatred that has been reoccurring within the context of the show and in the characters as well. It was seen with the monsters, such as Ludo, Buff Frog, and specifically with Toffee, and the mewmans most especially the Butterfly Queens of the past (Solaria and Crescenta) and seen at present with Moon (during Season 3). The cycle of violence that the monsters and mewmans have trapped themselves into are shown repeatedly with our cast such as Star, Moon, Ludo, and Toffee. (That's just what we know at the moment, there could be many more!)

Each one of them have a relationship or a sort of connection with one another, spanning across generations and carries with them the reminders of the past and the results of them. Because, lets be honest here, with everything that we've learn so far, the deal for the darkest spell Moon used on Toffee, from the false lies told about Eclipsa, the cover up and replacement of Meteora, and the dangers lurking beneath the Realm of Magic, there is something very dark and grim being hidden about the Land of Mewni.

Before moving on, here is something to ponder about:

The show has a incredible ability to parallel certain characters against one another that allows them (and us the audience) to compare and contrast the best and worst of each other. It has constantly been shown between characters such as Star, Moon, and Eclipsa. Sometimes its parallelism goes beyond a single character and more about the connection that one person has with another such as relationships about love, family, friendship or ideals. It's just one of the many things that the show does so well to present its themes, characters, and lore. Speaking of...

One of the many interesting pieces of lore that was revealed from the Magic Book of Spells was the introduction of Seth, who's been revealed to be known as the oldest of the Septarians and seems to be the link to everything that has happened in the past, the current present, and what may soon happen possibly in the future. One of those links being about Toffee.

Its unknown at this point what Seth has to do with Toffee but it cannot be coincidence (as if the show ever does) that everything that has happened since the very beginning of Season 1 and beyond is somehow connected to the Septarians and their involvement in the conflict between monsters and mewmans. Perhaps it could be symbolic to how history is doomed to repeat itself if no one learns from it as seen with Seth and Solaria.

Seth could be connected to Toffee as Solaria was connected to Eclipsa: symbolizing the hatred and sense of superiority of their respective people.

Solaria represented the mewmans hatred for the monsters.

Seth represented the monsters hatred for the mewmans.

Each side has held a grudge or some form of grievances that the other side has inflicted.

Both sides wanted to destroy their enemies by whatever means possible with Solaria attempting to create an annihilation spell while Seth sought out to rid the mewmans from the land.

However Solaria wasn’t just a blood thirsty warrior; she was a mother as well and deeply loved her daughter, Eclipsa with her whole being. Yet Eclipsa didn’t exactly follow the same idea that monsters were evil and should be destroy as her fellow mewmans or even her own mother. In fact she falls in love and has a family with a monster, something that would have been seen traitorous and evil by the mewmans.

Seth’s connection with Toffee may be reflected to the same relationship that Solaria had with Eclipsa. Perhaps they were father and son or siblings or mentor and student or even comrades in arms?

Here is what we do know:

Seth was introduced in Eclipsa’s chapter and is known to be a very dangerous individual.

Seth is mentioned once again in Crescenta’s chapter where he attempts to become the ruler of the monster nation.

Seth is discussed by the Magic High Commission in an illustration from Estrella

Seth is shown for the final time during Comet’s reign and is mocked by her for being a “relic of the past” and then disappears once she is dead.

This is where Toffee enters to take his place as leader of the monsters just as Moon takes her place as queen when her mother died. And with that, the cycle of hatred and violence begins all over again.

Because no one lived long enough to notice the pattern happening around them or able to learned to try or do anything different, and so everything will be repeated again and again without stopping.

Unless something changes, nothing ever will.

Who is the most affectionate? ....yes. OK I CAN’T REALLY ANSWER THIS QUESTION - They are both lost puppies in need of constant love and attention and can’t really find anything better than one another’s arms.  Sometimes Gabe, sometimes Cae. Most times... I’d say Gabe... Sometimes Cae is just too into his work.

Big spoon/Little spoon? Big: Cae Little: Gabe

Most common argument? HMM... I can’t think of one except either drunk misconceptions or... just, with one another before Cae is out of the closet?

Favorite non-sexual activity? CUDDLES FOR DAYSSSS - and playing with one anothers hair BUT CUDDLES

Who is most likely to carry the other? Cae will never deny to carry Gabe when alone or with family

What is their favorite feature of their partner’s? Cae can’t get enough of Gabriel’s smile, just that moment of happiness which leaves the mans face glowing - the way his teeth gleam against his darker skin whilst he laughs... he’s.. beautiful.. For Gabriel, I think his favourite features are any place piercings linger - but especially his nose. Tiny lingering kisses which make it scrunch up, the way he turns his septum piercing out and snorts like a bull when he catches him at work when the children are out to play and they play tag... it’s.. cute.

What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other? ..... Cae becomes scared, shaking, adrenaline filled, Nervous, broken, denial filled... Happy.. relieved, at peace.. He doesn’t know what to do but he’s... happy.. for the first time in awhile. Like a weight has been lifted! That he can walk with a little less weight on his shoulders!.. he just has to figure out how to admit it. (cue months and months later)

Nicknames? & if so, how did they originate? V:DA - Mi Amor - Antivan.. can’t really explain any other way! V:Modern - Amado.. Often something he heard his parents call one another frequently. He always wanted to be able to call somebody that. V: HP - estrella brillante, or estrella, because werewolf? moon.. stars.. shining star.. yeah nvm V: Destiny - Novio or Lucecita, what I kinda have as a term of endearment for Destiny V: Prison(?) - Ángel guardian.. Because well, Gabe is a guard.. guardian to assure he ISN’T slaughtered and Angel because, well, duh. V:SH - Príncipe Encantador. No reason, but he’s beautiful af and Caecilius sees him as royalty 

Who worries the most? hmm... I think Caecilius? merely just because Gabriel is EVERYWHERE and always active whilst he is slightly more tame?

Who remembers what the other one always orders at a restaurant? I guess it would be Gabriel? Because Cae is always the kind of person to just, not pay attention always to those sort of things and prefers to think primarily on Gabe rather than what he consumes - unless it comes to celebrations.. then he’ll pay attention in a way to give him a hint to where he should take him for holidays/birthdays or cook said meal at home.

Who tops? ..... Caecilius - Though thinking of Gabe topping gives me a faint smile, just the worry and skittishness, jokes after/before it has started etc.

Who initiates kisses? I think often it can be a cat and mouse game of Gabriel trying to get high enough and Cae standing on his tiptoes before breaking into laughter/getting tickled until he falls down - but usually, I’d like to think Caecilius?

Who reaches for the other’s hand first? ...yes. I can’t answer that? like... Caecilius when alone/with fam on outings, but Gabriel on other days when in public etc?

Who kisses the hardest? ..... (caeciliusandhecan’tevenapologiseforit.)

Who wakes up first? Caecilius. Teachers have to be up bright and early.. like.. dang

Who wants to stay in bed just a little longer? GABRIEL. CONSTANTLY. EVERY DAY.

Who says I love you first? .... I think, besides what went on.. Caecilius? he just messes up in his panic and claims that he loves him in a fit of laughter.. before instantly denying whatever he just said.

Who leaves little notes in the other’s one lunch? (Bonus: what does it usually say?) Gabriel I think, knowing how easily the taller can get flustered he just leaves notes in fine detail of what they may get up to the following night.

Who tells their family/friends about their relationship first? I guess Gabriel tells his family first, not parents, but siblings! whilst Cae may wait... months and months

What do their family/friends think of their relationship? “.... WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WEREN’T DATING BEFORE?!” “yeah no. we set you up... idiots.”

Who is more likely to start dancing with the other? Caecilius - he just really really likes swing jazz (andbellydancingbutweleavethattoanothertime)

Who cooks more/who is better at cooking? Cae just really likes to cook, but I don’t really know about Gabriel - I think they’d have fun together?

Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines? Gabriel, constantly - he has no boundaries!

Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear during inappropriate times? Gabriel... I feel like he has definitely hung around in parent teacher conferences when there are no parents present at the time and just.. yeah.

Who needs more assurance? Gabriel, I’d guess.  But Caecilius can’t leave the house without a kiss

What would be their theme song? Dream a little Dream of me 

Who would sing to their child back to sleep? Caecilius - But I like to think Gabriel stands back and watches with the biggest and goofiest smile on his face

What do they do when they’re away from each other? Gabe - doodle, just stupid little comics about the two, sketch out little figured reenacting their moments together Cae - Writes out text messages and never hits send, just deletes them. Strums dream a little dream of me on his guitar or hums it, whatever is convenient.

one headcanon about this OTP that breaks your heart Caecilius can’t bare the thought of coming to terms with his sexuality and what his family my think of him for such - he grew up listening to his family preach about how such is wrong in the name of God/the maker..  So when it strikes him that he loves Gabriel, the man looses his mind and runs away, just, as far away from the other as he possibly can; maybe back home if he can afford it! no explanation why!  He tries to find any attraction to women he possibly can to try and prove himself that it isn’t right, that he isn’t gay but.. it goes horrendously and the more he fails at finding such an attraction, the more mad at himself he gets. Finally, he just has to accept it, right?.. right?.... it’s inevitable! He adores his family to pieces but accepting himself means he has no rights into their arms just for the sheer fact.. returning home means death. It means very quick and possible abandonment for their own safety, and Cae can’t fight against that because it’s acceptable, their life is much more.. important.. than his own... There is it, that tendancy kicks of real quick as he sits in his shower, hands tight in his hair as he closes his eyes and tries to think on how to remedy his feelings - but the darkness just brings up those thoughts! Gabriel’s hair which shifts as he laughs, how his hands nervously rubs the back of his neck or shifts through his hair.  The way his nose scrunches when he accidentally snorts, teeth peek past his lips as he giggles. The way his muscles tense and tongue sticks out slightly as he concentrates in working on art pieces of people - the way he tunes out everything but his skills or pieces. The way glowing faint wings spread out from his back as he offers guidance - wait.. they weren’t real. The more he closed his eyes, his images get more vivdid and bright and he can’t think and it hurts all over and he can’t breath, he needs to see the man in person... but... he can’t... He abandoned them! what must they think!? what has he done?! text messages fill his phone but he can’t open them and he’s... lost. he’s breached his phobia and Caecilius Avaant is a working corpse by the end of the week.

one headcanon about this OTP that mends it Glancing into his eyes, they sparkle just as equally as the clear orbs do, both reflect such flamboyant feelings yet they can’t roll of the tongue - the club music may be intense, loud, the bass can be felt through their shoes but... it’s mute to them. Until something sounds scratchy. A man, clearly homosexual, they lean up on the bar and boy do their eyes sparkle with intentions to the smaller man. A grin, a smirk which can easily challenge his own (in his mind.) His hair flourishes as their head flicks to the side to show off the perfectly clean shaven face. Their clothes define their yearly wage and their job and they are.... such a grater human being than the taller could ever wish to be. And still, even though not a word of their crushes have been spoken about. He’s jealous.  he tries to tune out what they say to one another, their own conversation being played in his head... and it sounds like it would be going well; even if in reality it’s full of denial to the strangers intentions and... Their conversation ends short. Because the stranger finds himself on the floor. Their nose seems bloody and Cae hastily finds himself being forcibly removed - he doesn’t even seem to recall what just happened but!-.... Gabriel is smiling... he stiffles a laugh! he’s... “...perfect...”
